Dana and JB Boulé
Dana is an American mother married to a “mad scientist”, (as she likes to call him) Frenchman named JB, and together they have a 3-year-old named Zed. After meeting JB in New Jersey 7 years ago, Dana decided she wanted to move to Paris to have the experience of living in Europe. After six years on French soil, Dana’s biggest struggle is the isolation she feels. Living on the outskirts of the city, having very few friends, and working from home leads her to feel an overwhelming sense of loneliness. As a musician, one of her projects has been to inspire creativity and expression in young kids as they are introduced to music. Every Wednesday morning, Dana hosts a music class for kids called Le Petit Punk Rock (The Little Punk Rock) at her home, where she writes songs with the kids, and allows them to bang on instruments, record themselves, and throw rubber duckies, (a far cry from the traditional French conservatory). Being home everyday all day with Zed for the first two years, praising him often, and always engaging him and enticing his imagination, Dana would definitely define herself as an attached parent. JB on the other hand, is just beginning to interest Zed in the things he does, like working around the house. JB also struggles with Zed’s refusal to do what he’s told, which may be a quality of Zed's that is inspired by one of Dana's songs, "C'est moi qui decide ce que je vais faire", or "It's me who decides what I do".

"I'm flying by the seat of my pants."
