Heather and Yann Dreano

 

     Heather is a young American woman in her late 20s who moved to Paris two and a half years ago to teach English, and perhaps, find love. She met Yann six weeks before leaving back to the U.S.. Six months later, she was back in France, marrying Yann, and pregnant in her second trimester with her now one-year-old son Liam. Heather, Yann, and baby Liam live in a very small one-bedroom apartment in the center of Paris. Space is tight and so is money. Heather is struggling to find a good job in Paris as an English teacher for business men and women, but jobs like these are unsteady, and pay very little in Paris. Yann works as an IT technician and is able to support the three of them, however, Heather is searching for her own niche in this still foreign city. She is also struggling with being a first time mother in a foreign land. The ways of raising kids in France are not suited to attachment parenting, and she struggles with handing over her infant son to the nanny every day while she sets out in search of a job.
